Abbie the Surfing Dog comes to San Jose

Doubletree Hotel San Jose is a proud sponsor of the Humane Society Silicon Valley’s Summer Music and Wine Festival. This years special guest is Abbie, an Australian Kelpie who was adopted from the HSSV at age 1. She now lives in Laguna Beach where she learned how to surf. This talent lead to her to a role in the summer movie “Marmaduke.”

Stop by the event this Sunday, August 1st to say hi to Abbie and get a pawgraph as well as enjoy live music, use of the dog park, training tips and more. Give extra support to the HSSV by becoming a “Patron for the Day” for just $20. You will enjoy wine tasting, HSSV discounts, and snacks. Summer Music, Wine and Adoption Festival

Volunteer Day with Humane Society Silicon Valley

Last Friday a group of our Doubletree staff got to spend a rewarding morning with the Humane Society Silicon Valley in Milpitas. We began with a tour of their beautiful new facility, which we also learned is one of the first green certified animal facilities in the country! Being a green hotel we were very interested in this fact. Then we spent some time lending a helping hand to tidy up the cat and dog areas. The best part of all was that at the end of our shift we got to spend some time visiting with Clementine, a great dane, and Shay, a pit bull cross.
