U.S. House Passes Travel Promotion Act

The U.S. House of Representatives passed the Travel Promotion Act of 2008 (H.R. 3232), which would create a public-private partnership to promote U.S. tourism to international visitors and better communicate post-9/11 entry policies and security measures to them. The bill is now before the Senate.

Working Hard at Doubletree Hotel San Jose

Last week was the official International Housekeeping Appreciation Week! Of course we celebrated our fabulous housekeepers here at the Doubletree. They received various prizes all week as well as an appreciation breakfast in our Sprigs Restaurant on Friday morning. Our housekeepers are often recognized by guests for their thoroughness, great hospitality, and trustworthiness.

Had a great one-night stay

Our family stayed here for one night on the way home from a trip up the coast. After a full day of driving in the car, we needed a good night’s sleep, and we got it here. The lobby and housekeeping staff were very helpful and friendly and quickly jumped to assist us with two requests. Our room was spotlessly clean, and the beds and pillows were very comfortable. They had several different styles of pillows to suit everyone’s preferences. The room was soundproofed very well and despite having the 101 freeway directly out our window, traffic noise was never an issue. We all slept very well. This was our first stay ever at a Doubletree but the whole family was impressed.
